About YÖRTÜRK Foundation
Protecting and sustaining Yörük and Turkmen cultural heritage since 1996
Our Story
The Yörük Turkmen Foundation (YÖRTÜRK) was established in 1996 to preserve the rich cultural heritage of Yörük and Turkmen communities across Turkey, strengthen community bonds, and pass this legacy to future generations.
The Yörük and Turkmen peoples represent one of the oldest nomadic traditions in Anatolia. Their culture — encompassing handicrafts, oral literature, music, customs, and a unique relationship with the land — is an inseparable part of Turkey's cultural identity.
Today, YÖRTÜRK operates through more than 10 branches and representative offices across Turkey, bringing together thousands of members united by a shared passion for cultural preservation.
